Unfortunately I won’t be online most of this week. Happy St Patrick’s Day next Friday! 😉

  1. Such magnificent creatures, Inese, and the detail on the b/w images is wonderful. Although reptiles repulse many people (and I’d have to be considerably persuaded to handle a snake myself) they are fascinating animals and a great reminder of our past and the world the dinosaurs. As you say, these creatures are timeless.

    1. Thank you, Millie! I was very surprised to learn that a tarantula can live ten years and longer. I didn’t dare to touch Rosie, but the python was all right – I have already handled snakes before. Not the venomous ones though 🙂 A friend of mine discovered a whole family of snakes under her fire wood, and was terrified. I quickly picked them up, both hands full of shakes, and run with them to the forest, just behind the fence. It was early spring, they were not wriggling. I held them by their tails 🙂

  2. The three images in monochrome are sensational, it is impressive to observe the textures … they are really small dinosaurs… beautiful.
    Congratulations!!

      1. The last photo has impressed me, I had very little contact with the reptiles, the different textures of the body perfectly aligned … circles with circles, squares with squares, nature always so perfect, it is very inspiring.
        Thank you for sharing it.

  3. The photos are dreamlike, Inese. Beautiful with a hint of fairy magic.
Wishing you all a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! 🍀

  4. Wonderful photographs. Lucky that you got the snakes when they are active, usually they are sleeping when I visit the zoo. The black and white pics are great.. Happy St Patrick’s day to you, hope you have a fab time 🙂 xx

  5. The photos are gorgeous Inese! Reptiles are very fascinating, but I could do without the snakes. Happy St Patrick’s Day to you as well!

  6. I loved the way the lizards, crocodile (?) or alligators, snakes, etc all seem to be curious about you and your photography.
Inese, thank you ❤ for sharing the beautiful, exquisite examples of reptiles and snakes!
Hope you have a happy St.Patrick's Day! 🍀🍀

  7. These are wonderful! I have been a reptile lover ever since my encounter with a horned toad one summer. Although I grew to like iguanas best 🙂

  8. Oooh! The 2nd b/w shot is just soooo brilliant! Love it!! And I forgot to mention in your last post: I love that yawning iguana 🙂 And the one being depicted doing what they´re doing most of the day 😉 I feel very connected to that, at least in spirit 😉 xxxxxxxxxx

    1. Thank you Sarah! 🙂 I had a wonderful time in the Zoo. I went there in the middle of the week and there were only me and another two families. Had plenty of time to bond with the lizards xxxx

  9. While the photos are all beautiful, I especially like the one showing a (young?) Komodo dragon and part of a sign. It looks like the lizard is lecturing about its species and using its tongue as a pointer.

  10. Thanks for share those magnificent creatures with us, Inese. I almost can feel their textures in my skin… so lifelike! Happy Saint Patrick day, wish you a nice weekend. n_n

      1. At this point, Inese, I have to doubt that will happen. I’ve been failing at that goal for 5+ years now. But thank you for the sunny wish. There is a blizzard on the way here, so I will cling to that sunshine. Mega hugs right back. 🙂

  11. You take such amazing photos, Inese. These are beautiful. I do love the way the black and white photos show off the skin, but the colors are stunning too. Amazing creatures.

  12. My dear wife cradles snakes. Whilst I adore all living things, snakes, beautiful as they are, I find a tad scary to the touch. Notwithstanding, there are rather special things.
