1. Lovely shots of Barcelona! I think I caught a glimpse the Semperes’ bookshop along one of those narrow streets. I read all three books last year – it was a challenge finding them in my library: one was shelved in the mystery section, the other two were in general fiction but one was shelved under “Z”!

   1. Thank you for your comment, Ann! Finally there is one who read the books! When I was walking the streets I always remembered to have a good look at the oldest shop windows to hopefully recognize the book shop, and I found quite a few matching the description. No Cemetery of Forgotten books found, which for me is a proof that it exists 🙂

2. Inese, you make me wish I’d gone to Barcelona when I wasn’t so young and could have appreciated it better. It wasn’t a place I’d thought of returning to, but you’ve changed my mind 🙂

The fact that somebody employed Gaudi to build his creations more than a hundred years ago speaks volumes to me about people of Barcelona and the spirit of this wonderful city.

7. My son went to Barcelona for years to a trade show. He never took photos though. Beautiful place from what you showed us. We’ve never been there, although we did visit Madrid and Toledo years ago. 🙂

   1. From what I have heard, Catalonia is different than Spain. My next destination is Madrid. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Swetank! I haven’t recorded any videos in Barcelona – sometimes I record the street performers on my phone though 🙂
       The fountain video isn’t mine, it is why I didn’t put it as a cover image, but I think I have recorded every minute with my camera :))
       I don’t know if he hated, but he disliked Gaudi a lot and even said that Sagrada Familia can go to Hell – or something like that. Ah, many people didn’t like Gaudi those days.

16. These pictures are quite impressive. Why could you not take pictures in the Palau de la Musica Catalana? I love the old buildings. We live in a city where everything was built in the past thirty or forty years so it’s nice to see something with bit of age. I love the picure of the man in the blue top surounded by blue clothed mannequins. Even the poster is interesting.

    1. Thank you for stopping by! I think it is because they are selling those booklets, and also there are always musicians hanging around for rehearsals or performances.
       That man in blue was a gem 🙂 I have got only one snap of him; he saw me and went back into his shop.

17. Had to comment, what about the Gugenheim(probably spelled that wrong) it was there when i was in my teens.

    And sorry for leaving your heart there……Madrid is way better place.

          Madrid has also beautiful museums, the Retiro park, ton of old buildings and castles. Plus the our King´s castle is in Madrid. Nice city to visit, I do recommend it.

18. Beautiful fountain and water work! It reminds me of Bellagio in Las Vegas. I just love watching water work there. The street shots of the Barcelona are fantastic. At least, it is a dreaming place to visit.

    1. Yes, I remembered Bellagio too. Both are very impressive, and water has always fascinated me 🙂 Barcelona is the third most visited cities in Europe, after Rome and Paris. I went there in March – the weather was warm and the tourists scarce.
