Sorry to hear about his passing. I like the paintings, and his use of bold colour.
Thank you for stopping by, Carolee. I am a huge fan of fantasy and symbolism .
❤ ⭐ ❤
I’ve just followed the link and I’m amazed at how many wonderful things James Christensen painted. His paintings are incredibly complex – and so colourful. I could spend ages scrutinizing all the intricate details. Christensen had enormous skill and certainly knew how to draw us into the world of each one. I’m sure he’ll be very missed.
When I was very young I wanted to be a children book illustrator 🙂 I loved details 🙂 My parents sent me to music school, they thought it was more beneficial.
I have never heard of this man before so I followed your link and now I am sorry I never knew about him because what he wrote about and painted is right up my street, anything to do with myth, fables and fantasy I love. I take my hat off to anyone who can create subjects from imagination as good as he did. So sad. RIP 😦
Thank you so much for your comment! It is exactly what I think – his world is my kind of world too. So sad.
What a special soul. There are just not enough of those.
Thank you for stopping by, Michele. Life is so very short.
I hadn’t heard of James Christensen Inese, but his pictures look unique and vibrant.
Thank you Andrea! I love symbolism behind his images. You might be interested to read this blog 🙂 http://jameschristensenart.blogspot.ie/
It is always sad when we lose a wonderful talent.
True. Thank you for stopping by!
What talent Mr. Christensen possessed! He also drew some fine monsters. I hadn’t heard of him before, so thank you, Lady Inese, for your post. Perhaps he was able to now meet the angel with one wing, which he seemed to illustrate a few times. xoxo

Thank you so much for stopping by, dear Friend. There is a quote I love to share. All works of James C Christensen have a story behind them, and a source of inspiration 🙂
“We are, each of us, angels with only one wing.
And we can only fly embracing each other.”
— Luciano De Crescenzo

What a gorgeous quote! I’ll need to do more research on Mr. Christensen. I like the idea of the stories behind his paintings. Thank you very much! I shall read up on Luciano Crescenzo. Peace and love. xoxoxoxo
Enjoy your weekend! xxxxxxxxx
It’s such in incredibly sad loss, the beauty of his imagination is just stunning. I love how you can get lost in these paintings and the stories they share… Love the Dr Crescenzo quote! I’ve read a lot of his books during my studies but somehow missed this one. xxxxxx
Isn’t it a beautiful quote, and look what a stunning image it has inspired. Truly, all the gifts are inspiring, and they enrich life for all human beings. We just cannot be without each other 🙂 xxxx
Perfectly put! 🙂 xxxxxx
I’m really impressed by the lovely fox’s pictures and story… I didn’t know in Irland you have them as pets… the pictures you show in the blog (with the fox) are of deep beauty and I can tell from the eyes of this wild animals that they are happy to be with humans! Thank you for sharing :-)c
Thank you for stopping by! I am not sure that foxes are considered pets in Ireland. I guess, they are not. It is a wild animal, and it can be adopted as a pet only in extraordinary circumstances.
Have a wonderful week!
I didn’t know the artist, Inese, but I liked the example of his work that accompanied your post. It is sad that he has passed on, but when I followed the link to his entry in Wikipedia, it seemed he’d lived a fulfilling and creative life doing what he loved. I guess that’s as much as any of us can really hope for.
Thank you for stopping by! Yes, he lived a fulfilling and generous life, and left an amazing legacy of beautiful, sad and wise creatures I love so much. He was creating and giving away many of his works. Just a generous soul, may he enjoy the beautiful world on the other side of the veil.
People like that make the world a better place. Truly.
He looks like he smiles a lot. That is a loss.
Oh it is. He created a special world, and every creature he created will miss him 😦
Such beautiful talent, a huge loss.
Yes, I so love his beautiful world, his angels and creatures. No more new angels.
Very sad news.
Very sad, so many gifted people gone recently.
