Humans are fascinated with water and water creatures. Growing up on a lake in 1960-s is my favorite memory; it certainly influenced my choice of academic studies and my life in general.
Right now I am on holidays and we are doing a bit of traveling around. This Wednesday we went to the aquarium. They say there are 2,484 animals on display which I cannot exactly confirm, but there are lots of things to see, and the place is something that you will enjoy visiting.
These three pictures from Antarctic Adventures exhibition.
Shark Tunnel. Sharks and many more creatures.
Rescued Green turtle.
Aquarium photography tip: Good advice from Nikon professionals.
I do love the color here. Did you have decent lighting, or did you have to do something special for your camera?
No Jean, I didn’t use any flash – it would reflect from the glass. I just boosted up ISO and shutter speed – the fishes are moving fast. Nothing else. I must have had ISO at 3200 in those conditions. Didn’t use my tripod either – it would look too professional 🙂
HA! I love the lack of tripod–it allows for excellent candids!
True 🙂 And I am not sure if they would let me in with a tripod. We already had a huge stroller with us 🙂
You can hide a lot in those strollers 🙂
LOL

Inese – Exquisite photography. Each photo is so life-like. It seemed as though I must surely be in the sea with the creatures great and small. You are a gifted artist. The years we lived in Monterey, California, we went to the Monterey Aquarium every chance possible.
Thank you Sheri! I actually didn’t try too much to make a great picture, I was just having fun:) I would stay there for hours:)

Thanks!:) Some place to hide from the world for a couple of hours:)
You would of thought you where staring at some real natural north pole place where the pinguins are in the wild if it wasn´t for the fact that you actually there was a window there. The background is realistic is what I´m trying to say. You guys seemed to have a ball there. And hey, not only for kids….I´d like to go there.
The little lads seemed to be happy there:) I would stay staring at them for hours. Thank you for visiting!
